A member of the Santa Barbara Fine Art Dealers Association, the town’s most beautiful gallery is located in the heart of the historic ‘El Pueblo Old Mission’ district on State St. It features traditional paintings by local artists, specializing in ocean and nature-themed works, displayed in a warm, home-like ambience.
Why it is called “Divine Inspiration Gallery”:
A spiritual, rather than religious connotation is behind the name. Based on the emotional impact made on an artist of their subject that can’t be expressed in words; and the universal need to connect to something greater than just the artist and his or her ego at work. It is the unconscious experience of the sublime, that makes the artist an instrument for a higher power, allowing them to get “into the zone, or the flow”; letting go of theanalytical mental, and therefore becoming receptive to ‘divineinspiration.
Premise of the Gallery:
We show local talented emerging artists, as well as established ones in a traditional atmosphere with original paintings of plein-air, still life, landscapes, and seascapes.
Locals and tourists alike can find a painting of the area here, a ‘cherished memory’ to bring home or give as a gift.
